Sometimes a farm grows in more ways than one.

This year marks an exciting new chapter for FFLC Youth Farm, which expanded from a five-acre parcel in Springfield to its own 25-acre farm at the base of Mount Pisgah. The move represents more than just additional acreage. It creates new opportunities for young people to learn where food comes from, build practical skills, and develop meaningful connections with the land and their community.

At the heart of FFLC Youth Farm is the belief that agriculture is about more than growing vegetables. It's about growing confidence, curiosity, leadership, and a lifelong appreciation for local food systems.

The larger farm gives youth more room to plant, harvest, explore, and care for the land while increasing the amount of fresh food that can be grown for the community.

One of the easiest ways to support this work is by visiting the Seavey Loop Farm Stand.

Throughout the growing season, the stand is stocked with freshly harvested vegetables, herbs, flowers, and other seasonal offerings grown by the youth and farm team. Every purchase directly supports agricultural education while helping sustain a vibrant local food system.
