Description:
How well do you know the plants you should NOT eat? The Poisonous Plant Walk is a self-guided autumn walk along our Southern Hedgerow Trail exploring the strange, beautiful, useful—and sometimes deadly—world of poisonous plants.
Photographs and educational signs explore plant identification, ecology, history, folklore, traditional uses, symptoms of poisoning, and the fascinating line between medicine and poison. It’s designed for families, homeschoolers, small learning groups, young naturalists and curious adults, with visitors exploring at their own pace.
No poisonous plants are brought in or displayed for the event; the experience uses photographs and educational information to help people safely learn about plants they may encounter in the world around them.
Natural farm trail; expect uneven ground, leaves, roots, mud and October weather.
