Coalition Partners: Blueberry U-Pick Season Is Here!

U-Pick Blueberry Season Has Arrived!

If summer had an official uniform, we'd argue it includes stained fingertips, a sun hat, and a berry basket filled to the brim with blueberries.

Blueberry season is one of the sweetest times to visit local farms. Whether you're planning to bake pies, stock your freezer, make jam, dehydrate berries for snacks, or simply snack your way through the fields, U-pick farms offer one of the best ways to experience Oregon's summer harvest firsthand.

Why Pick Your Own?

There's something special about harvesting your own food.

You learn where it comes from. You support local farmers directly. Kids get excited about fresh fruit. And somehow, berries picked by your own hands always taste just a little sweeter.

Blueberries are also one of the easiest fruits to preserve. Freeze them on a sheet pan for smoothies, bake them into muffins, turn them into jam, dehydrate them for trail snacks, or simply enjoy them fresh while they're in season.

Where to Pick Blueberries

This season we're highlighting three local farms offering blueberries in the Southern Willamette Valley. These farms are a part of our coalition.

Upriver Organics

44382 McKenzie HWY., Leaburg

Blueberry season is officially underway at Upriver Organics!

Their U-pick fields are now open with blueberries available for $3.85 per pound. Buckets and harvest harnesses are available to borrow, making it easy to fill your basket (or several!).

U-Pick Hours

  • Wednesday–Saturday: 9:00 AM–5:30 PM

  • Sunday: 10:00 AM–3:30 PM

  • Closed Monday & Tuesday

The best part? There's no limit to how many blueberries you can pick.

Known for its certified organic farming practices, Upriver Organics grows multiple blueberry varieties that ripen throughout the season, making every visit a little different.

Adkins Blueberry Farm

85995 Gossler Rd., Eugene

A longtime Lane County favorite, Adkins Blueberry Farm offers beautiful rows of blueberries perfect for a summer outing. Fresh-picked berries are available, and families can enjoy free Wednesday Storytime during blueberry season, making it a wonderful stop for kids and berry lovers alike.

Royal Blueberries

28718 Royal Ave, Eugene

Royal Blueberries welcomes visitors to harvest directly from the fields. Bring your own containers and spend a peaceful morning surrounded by rows of beautiful blueberry bushes. It's a simple, classic U-pick experience and a great way to support a local farm.

Building a Sovereign Pantry

Blueberries are one of our favorite pantry crops because they're incredibly versatile.

Freeze them whole for winter oatmeal, pancakes, and smoothies.

Turn them into jam, syrup, fruit leather, pie filling, or muffins.

Dehydrate them for trail snacks.

Or simply eat them by the handful while standing in the kitchen. (We've all been there.)

Building a sovereign pantry doesn't happen all at once. It happens one seasonal harvest at a time. Every bucket you pick, every jar you preserve, and every local farm you support helps strengthen a more resilient regional food system.

So grab a bucket, gather your favorite people, and head out to the berry patch. Your future self will thank you when you're enjoying a taste of Oregon summer in the middle of winter.
